While this blog may sound slightly banal or sentimental, I wanted to talk today about the power of dreams, aspirations, and the sincere desire to do something great, something that comes straight from the heart. The magic of belief is a belief that can move mountains and make you stand up, take the first step, and start an adventure. A belief that breaks the rules and the status quo. A belief that can break through dire and desperate situations.

Dreams have the power to restore and give meaning to life around you for yourself and others. They can pull you through the darkness, both external and internal. They can heal and challenge. Of course, they can also throw you into a turmoil of unpredictable events, choices, crossroads, tests, and trials. Yet, whatever they offer, following your dreams can get you through life, bring it essence, and teach us all to live in a way that may not be possible otherwise.
Dreams weave narratives and introduce us to miracles. They wake our hearts again, remind us what it was like to be a kid, make the impossible possible, and challenge us to look at reality with open eyes. They teach us to listen and restore faith in ourselves. They give us a voice to talk. They ignite fire in the hearts and souls of others and inspire them, just for a moment, to wake from the slumber of the mundane.
It’s never too late to dream. The decision to step through the mirror and change everything around you can be done anytime, in a split-second. Wherever you are and whatever burdens you, nobody can take away the magic key to your imagination.
Some tell us that this world is built on rules, expectations, circumstances, and obstacles. This is certainly one perspective. I also know that everything humanity has created over its existence is built on stories and people's ambitions to follow their dreams. Stories are the byproduct of dreams and fuel yet more stories. Don’t deny them. Don’t fall flat, jaded, and discouraged. If this does happen, stop for a second, look at the sky, and remember you can stand up and follow that dream again.

Just look at Cyberside. It can be seen as a series of books and comics, products of experience. In reality, however, it’s a lot simpler than that. I also have a dream, and I’m following it. Life has led me down many paths. It began in my very early days, when, somewhere in Ukraine, a six-year-old me would stand on the street or climb a tree and look at the horizon, imagining how I would travel the world, live this life, meet people, hear their story, and tell mine. I did, I still do, and I will continue to do so.
While I have been discouraged, disillusioned, thrown back multiple times, made mistakes, and dealt with the consequences, a dream to join forces with like-minded people to create worlds through words and moving pictures has always been there. The belief in that dream has never let me down and has often saved me from making decisions that would otherwise lead me to a life of bitterness, regret, and resentment.
Cyberside is the beginning of a long path. It won’t be simple; good things rarely are. But since we are already walking, let’s walk this road together. I believe it will help me to keep on dreaming my dream. Perhaps it will wake one within you, somewhere along wastelands of digital landscapes, conspiracies, corporate struggles, friendships and betrayals, and the neverending digital storm of the System. And then, much later, in other realms and domains, more stories will present themselves and be told.
Merry Christmas, friend, wherever you are and whatever your circumstances are. Keep on dreaming. It will lead you to be the best of who you are.
