Hello everyone!
As we are concluding the first phase of our journey (and experiment!) that started this January, I wanted to give a quick look back and celebrate what has already been achieved in these five months.
We have successfully launched “Cyberside: Level Zero” with 10,000+ readers able to jump into the story of James Reynolds, Alice Burrows, Steve, Hank and others. Book sits at 4.3 out of 5 on both Amazon and Goodreads, and most reviews are pretty favourable. We have also been picked up by Waterstones, which was a very welcome surprise!
Cyberside: Creature of Darkness story crossed the Rubicon with 3 volumes from 5 being released at Amazon.
Our social networks and website audience is growing organically and has surpassed 6.000 people at this point.
Multiple mentions, reviews, reposts and personal DM’s with the audience sharing their impressions are a blast and wave of mostly positive responses.
A licensing model has been announced, making Cyberside (and all future Velvet Curtain IPs) free for UGC, Mods, and non-commercial interactive content. For commercial content, the IP is free for 1.000.000 USD and 5% gross after, which is also negotiable.
All of this wouldn’t be possible without you, the readers and people who are interested in our work. We are genuinely grateful for all of your help, support, and interest in our work. I personally and on behalf of the whole of our team, offer my deepest thanks to you.
But, aside from what has already been achieved, many more things have been in preparation :)
We are blasting in tomorrow with the second phase of the project, 25.05.2025, and this day will trigger the whole sequence of events we are looking to pull off this summer season!
The second edition of the original Cyberside has a plan in itself; the Kindle edition will go live next week. It's called Second Simulation for a reason, as it has been aligned with Level Zero, has a new trim, foreword, and a number of details changed that will draw the attention of a careful eye. Paperback, hardcover, and audiobook will follow in the next weeks.
We are announcing the first slate of video games that launch their production based at Cyberside IP. It’s a very wide geography of indie studios, genres, narrative and technological experiments, yet the same goal connects them.
We are making the first step into exploration of the UE cinematic pipeline with a 2:30 story trailer based on Cyberside: Second Simulation. It also gives the start for one of the games to be developed. As of now, the full film script is also concluded, adjusted and ready for full production.
Board Game Kickstarter shall start in mid-june, but quite maybe, it’s more than just a board game campaign at this point in a way it extends the IP narrative, provides composite products as a proposition and way it structures its 30 days of the roll.
Closer to the second part of June, we will announce a creative contest with, I think, about 5.000 pounds in prizes for submissions based on Cyberside IP.
Cyberside: Creature of Darkness vol4 is scheduled for June.
We are beginning to set up multiple partnerships related to other types of products, merchandise and distribution of what we have already made.
It will be a hot and busy summer and lot has to be done, but it is planned to happen in a very good company of people, who are committing their curiosity, time, skills, aspirations and desire to challenge existing reality with their dreams and ambition.
As we will finish our day, today, at 23.59 of May 24th or year 2025, there will be a dozen of us, who have been participating in the Velvet Curtain initiative so far.
As we will start the day of tomorrow, and move to 25.05.2025, there shall be more than a union of a hundred, who in one, or other way helps Cyberside to forge a little miracle at the end of this year.
We have less than a day before the next big website update that will give a start to the next phase, so let’s make it happen! :)
Sincerely,
Aleksey Savchenko
