Preparation, warm-ups and distant thunder

Writer: Aleksey SavchenkoAleksey Savchenko

Hello, everyone. It’s been a month since we started the Cyberside website, and I wanted to begin with a little tradition with monthly reports on where we are, our plans, and how things are generally progressing.

So, this is what we have achieved through the first month,

  1. The website is launched through beta and generates the first sales. We have received feedback on design, functionality, and payment methods, including some great product ideas. Most of those have been implemented or set in plans, and you can check the current state of www.cyberide.co.uk by going around the pages. Again, please send us more feedback; we intend to improve it over 2025! If you are interested in numbers, we have a couple hundred people signing up for the newsletter, seeing 300-400 people visiting the website monthly. That is with no actual advertisement and marketing activities, which will start after we optimise, test run and do more work in the upcoming month.

  2. We have established an essential presence in social networks - about 35 units of various art content, reels, ideas and reports to the community have been posted through this period with a generous reward of about 4000 people following us across the website, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. We are looking to get a little more proactive with target ads to bring up Cyberside to more attention now.

  3. Cyberside: Creature of Darkness, the first comic is out, the release schedule is established, and the subsequent volumes are coming up - you can check the first volume both in digital and print at Amazon, and we are looking to launch a new volume every two months, with the next one available already on March 1st. The complete premium paperback and hardcover graphic novel (460 pages + bonus material) will be available around November.

  4. Cyberside: Level Zero - we are ten chapters edited and working on the jacket now, presenting a copy to the first professional reviewers and preparing for beta-reading.

  5. Original Cyberside - is additionally proofread, designed and… postponed to be released in May after Level Zero is released. This decision is connected with plans to re-publish it in logical sequence after the prequel, preserving the timeline and having a premium hardcover with both books in one package.

  6. Board Game Cyberside: Tall Tales - is in early design works, prototyping and as you have noticed, we are not talking too much, but we will very soon. If you want to know some basic details, it’s a rogulette spinoff from the original Cyberside.

  7. Representation and marketing plans - our work starts to get first partnerships with talent representation for the author, the campaign has been tweaked to accommodate the larger scale due to initial positive reviews for Level Zero, and while we have some very cool initial results here, we will start announcing them closer to March.

What are we looking for until February 2025,

  1. Website upgrade - our current focus is on visibility, additional art, more banner content, and a merchandise section in testing. Three ideas we have picked up from the fans are also in work. We will start selling paperbacks directly and seal and sign personalised author autographs. We are toying a bit with the idea of bundles. We are considering a subscription option you can opt for once and get yourself all products in 2025 with a substantial discount.

  2. Growing and communicating with influencers - another 30-40 units of social network content are to be presented this month, and we are testing some of the collaborations with influencers in February. Please don’t wait too long in this regard. We are going full-blown blazing in late March to support the Level Zero release, but we are building up.

  3. Cyberside: Creature of Darkness—Chapter 5 will be available for preorder in a few weeks, and Chapter 6 will follow right before the launch of Volume 2 on March 1st. We are trying to design the subsequent two volumes a bit ahead of time and are also working on covers. The comic does not have any substantial marketing now for a reason; we will start advertising it with at least three volumes in sales after the Level Zero launch.

  4. Cyberside: Level Zero—We are looking to finish the outstanding two chapters in February and go through two rounds of proofreading. The big February thing is that somewhere in the middle of the month, we shall start posting one free chapter a week and publishing six of them on the website before the book's release. That way, we will have reasonable intervals between chapters and will be able to prepare some graphics for the website section to make it look pretty.

  5. Original Cyberside —We want to work on a new jacket and hardcover design while it's benched.

  6. Cyberside: Tall Tales - there are a couple of playtests for the prototype planned for February, and we will get the page designed for it on the website. It will be announced in March, though.

  7. More stuff—We received a couple of inquiries about digital content and happily approved them, lending the rights to produce more related content. Next month, we will announce a couple of partnerships we have been lucky to make.

Otherwise, the engines are heating up, things are starting to align into proper operation, and the team's creative juices are flowing. So keep following, guys, tell your friends about it, and be sure to have more cool things coming!
